Mooseiversary

Today is Moose's one month anniversary with me! Boy, time flies! He has come along way in terms of settling in and I think he must be getting used to life with me by now. I am getting more snuggles everyday!
To thank Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida for keeping him from ending up in a shelter Moose convinced me to volunteer for them and wants me to spread the word! For those of you who don't know how it works, volunteers find labs in need of a furever home by looking at local shelters or animal control facilities for adoptable labs/ lab mixes that have been abandoned or surrendered by their owners. Then they find one of their volunteers who can foster the lab until a permanent home can be found. They are dedicated to providing healthy, neutered, microchipped labs to families who can provide excellent furever homes to these labbies and work hard to find the right lab for all of the approved applicants. Inspite of having a statewide network of volunteers they are far outnumbered by all of the homeless labs out there! If you know of someone looking to get a lab please let them know that there are alternatives to going to breeders and there are plenty of wonderful labs waiting for them. Regardless of breed there is never a reason to go to pet stores for a dog (click here for why!).
