Product review: Drool Cleaner... fur real!

Momma came home from the store today with this weird stuff designed to remove the slobbers I have carefully coated our windows with. I don't know what she is thinking... I have placed it there as a sort of 'privacy film' since we have lots of glass doors. Once she cleans it anyone walking down the street will be able to see in! She is crazy but I will let her tell you about it.

So I was at the hardware store in the vacuum section and this is what I saw on the shelf: Bissel Drool Cleaner!!! It is a can with a scrub brush and squeegee attached. At first I thought it was for upholstery since I saw the brush. I am in constant need of a way to clean drool off of my sofa. I could put a cover down but Moose has a way of 'missing' any covers intended for this!
Anyway, it turns out it is for glass... as you can see from the first photo we have a bit of a drool issue there too. Now, you doggies that leave nose prints on windows might get away with regular cleaner but some doggies produce something far more enduring than just nose prints. Moose's 'floogers' are nothing like Mango or Honey's slobbers but still, window cleaner is not enough to remove them!

Speaking of Mango... The doggie model looks a little Mango-like, no? Though he is definitely missing some mango-ness! (And why not have a slobbery doggie on the bottle?) But here is the really funny thing.... lookit the doggie's name on the can... it is Dexter!!! Coincidence? I think the Mango estate must be some kind of product testing lab or something...

Anyway, I decided to try it out on this is the door (this is actually only Moose's lighter duty drool):

For comparison I tried regular glass cleaner (I use a very effective foaming spray that does a good job on normal things) on the right side and the Drool Cleaner on the left side.

Here is the door after cleaning both sides. For the glass cleaner I wiped as I normally wood to clean typical glass. Not as hard as I would clean drool covered glass (though I admit I am a lazy housekeeper!)

Back to Moose! Below is a photo essay of my review of this product. Four paws down! It is evil smelling and sprays out of a can- two deal breakers for me!

Now this is a product I can endorse!

What do you think Mandy?

Same here! Delicious!

Momma says Mandy looks like a manatee here. I think it is more Hippo-like myself!
Keep your paws crossed for her. She is having beak surgery on tuesday. Momma will update on that later.

Speaking of paws crossed and updates. Did you guys hear that Mango scared the daylights out of his Momma and Pee Wee the other night? Yikes. Momma made me promise never to do that to her. Keep your paws crossed that Mango never does that again either!

  3. Golly, Moose, if you follow mom's instructions on things not to do I think the vet will wind up owing HER money.

Yuh, as for that drool cleaner, what the heck is in your slobbers? My momma uses Windex and it works great for my window slobbers so methinks that you have some sort of icky labragoo in your snooter. Of course getting my slobber stains off the hardwood floors is a whole nother thing.

  6. Tell you mom to NEVER EVER take the drool or snot smears off the window... It keeps stuff from being sun faded and protects birds from crashing into windows. Throw that stooopid stuffs out right now, I tell you.

  8. Oh my God - can't believe they actually made a DROOL Cleaner??!! :-) Have to say - looking at that glass door - Moose is a dog after Honey's heart - ha! ha! I always feel bad looking at so many other Danes who don't seemn to drool like Honey does - and then hearing about Moose makes me feel better! :-) But I agree - seems a stupid device when regular stuff probably works just as well, without all the chemicals! I actually try to be as green as possible in house cleaning (and I'm a VERY LAZY cleaner too) and so I find that white vinegar works great as a general all-purpose cleaner, esp well on glass and it deodorises too! :-) I just spray over surfaces and wipe off - might need to scrub a bit for dried drool but generally works well!

  9. We need something to clean the slobbers from the inside of the car windows. They say its my slobbery licks that leave the grime and swirls...

    Happy nomming!

  11. Too bad that isn't for upholstery - we could definitely use that! We don't do to much on the windows (being vertically challenged and all), but wherever we sleep there is a collection of "love snot" that is surprisingly difficult to get off things!
