3rd Mooseiversary

Me at my foster home looking a tad round but so handsome.
Three years ago today I was hanging out with my 4 foster brothers up in Jupiter Fl at a lovely place with a big grassy yard and a very nice foster mom when this yellow haired lady showed up I had seen her before and all my foster brothers were excited by her arrival but she kept wanting to see me and visit with me. I had met her a few weeks before and same thing, it was all about visiting me.
First ever photo of me after leaving my foster home.
That is my bed squished in the back!
I could tell that she needed me. She did not have any doggie smell on her when she showed up which is just sad so I decided to rescue her from a dogless existence even though it meant leaving my foster home and going who knows where!

So after driving for what seemed like days and stopping at a petsmart to stock up we arrived at this little tiny place. (Can you believe she did not have a proper camera to document all of this?)

Here is the first photo ever of me in this tiny place. I had the bed I had brought with me from the only home I had ever known and a new squeaky toy (that sadly did not last more than 15min).

This place was not as awesome as my foster home but it was all mine so I settled in pretty quick. There was a nice dog park not too far away that helped me not miss my foster brothers too bad.

I got a huge box of toys that helped me stay busy!

This big Moose had like a jillion squeakers in it and it took me awhile to get them all out!

All in all it was not such a bad place and I did get to rescue this lady (my new momma!) so it was worth it!

Moose wondering what Mooseiversary treats are coming
his way...
I am not sure what momma has planned to mark this occasion but I hope it is something good. She has been working and sleeping mostly these days so not sure what she will have time to do. Last year I got a cheeseburger and some doggie oreos... not too bad!

Since momma started blogging for me the day I came home it is also our blogoversary! We are at post 355... who knew I would keep it up this long?

p.s. from momma: Moose's blood work is nothing too worrisome. His bilirubin is slightly elevated and one thyroid number is a bit low but since he has no other signs of hypothyroidism she does not think it is meaningful. He will get weighed again on the 25th and if he has gained weight then she just wants to re-run those two blood tests in 6 mos.

Labra-bunny Returns

Some of you may recall last easter when there were two Labra-bunnies here at the Moose Lodge but this year only one has been sighted so far....

Ok, there is no such thing as a labra-bunny, that is just me in those $#&@ Bunny ears again. Momma told me that if I did not wear them the Easter bunny would be scared off and would not leave me any goodies. So I wore them and got a big easter egg full of kibbles! Totally worth it!

As usual momma giggled because I got a case of the 'crazy eye' which I only get when I am beside myself excited. You can tell because my ears are back (not the bunny ears, the real moose ears) which goes along with crazy eye (momma says probably no one else can recognize the crazy eye look so you will have to trust her!) Can you blame me though? The easter bunny himself was obviously here!

He even left behind one of his carrots!

Hope the easter bunny left the rest of you some goodies!

p.s. here is the ferocious side of the labra-bunny! Momma thought the egg would be too big for his mouth... ha! She is pretty sure that labra-bunnies can unhinge their jaws like a snake can!

p.p.s. We have not heard any news about TeddyNo (the other labra-bunny) since last May but hope that no news is good news!

Happy St Patricks day!

I guess it is just these glasses... My Blog looks all green!

TTTTHHHHHPPPPBBBT!

The things I will do for some snacks! Ugggh! Easter is just around the corner... I wonder if I can find those %#$@ Bunny Ears and chew them to bits before then?

Don't Forget to join in Tank's Limerick Party to help a good cause!

Happy Valentine's Day

Hope today finds you all feeling loved! My momma has been scurrying around in one of her cleaning frenzies.

She cleaned my jug which she says was covered with some disgusting combination of drool, kibble and fur.
She cleaned my water bowl stand which was similarly covered with some substance that does not exist in nature so she had to take it outside and hose it off! (I made myself scarce during that though lest the hose get turned on me!)

Then she started cleaning all of my drool marks off the floor which required picking up rugs and beds and such.

Luckily I am not too picky about where my bed is so I was able to get a nap in during all of this!

Cleaning drool marks and furs and such tends to make momma kinda grumbly so I suggested that it would be a perfect opportunity for her to follow the suggestion on Wally's blog today about taking time to remember why she loves me.

Well she discovered that there is not enough space on this blog for her to list ALL the reasons that I am the best doggie in the world but here are a few:

1. I sleep late! No waking momma up to go out or even for food!

2. I never let her work too late without taking a break (at least to feed me or for walkies!)

3. I am very helpful! I will get my collar for walkies and my jug for meal time and even pickup my toys!

4. Even though I am a SeƱor Moose I still play like a puppy Moose!

5. I always make her laugh!

To Wally's Ma ape and the Peppy sheppy's, thanks for sharing Wally with us and making us think today!

UPDATE: I (and my girlfriends Swissie and Jetta) sent momma a valentines day card! She was very surprised when she found it in the mailbox tonight and was not sure how I pulled it off but suspects that Swissie swung by the post office to mail it during one of her recent escapes in Miami.

Puppy Bowl!

Wasn't that an awesome game? Onside kicks, 2 point conversions, tail biting, falling into water bowls, it was all so exciting!

When the referees had to check the replay to see if the ball crossed the plane of the goal line I was on the edge of my seat!

WHO were those kitties during the half time show? They were pretty entertaining too.
My favorite thing was the hamsters in that Twizzler blimp that flew around over the the field though!

Momma switched back and forth between Puppy Bowl and that other game so I might be confusing some of the details...

Are you ready for some Puppy Bowl?

Don't forget to get over to Mango Minster 2010 and vote for BEST IN SHOW before 5pmEST today! Of course I don't want to play favorites and tell you who to vote for, but if you are like me and had never met Clive be sure to check out his blog before you vote. He is amazing and VIP (Very Important Pup) but he also has some nice words about our friend Maxdog who is not doing so well. Max's pack could sure use some kind words right now.
You doggies know it is Puppy Bowl Sunday right? Momma let me watch it last year. We had just moved so things were kind of a mess and we just had a smaller TV but this year I will be watching on the big flat screen and can't wait!
Apparently I polished off all the snacks last night. These are the special snacks momma buys for my beak balancing practice because they are flat. We have gone through a jumbo box in the last few weeks and I am getting pretty good.
Of course I still miss catching them and sometimes have to work pretty hard to find where I flipped them to but that is half the fun!

Holiday Wrap Up and an Award

The last holiday cookie was eaten today.

My girlfriends aunt made them for me and I went absolutely wild for them! But now they are gone.

Two out of three Christmas stuffies have been de-capitated or gutted (wiener dogs are tough... who knew?).

Momma put away all the stupid hats and there is no more leftover turkey, so all of this means the holidays are officially over!

Here are some random events from December that missed the blog.

Momma went on a cleaning frenzy and cleaned beds, collars, toys and even my girlfriends and I! Here we are right after the bath waiting for our good dog oinkies!

Here I am trying to find some where to sleep while all of my bed covers were being washed at the same time (I mean really... can't she do one at a time?)

Here is Swissie trying to figure out how to get her toy out of the washer. You can see in this little movie that she was very perplexed about it!

There was a very scary storm that required me to hole up in my storm shelter for several hours.

The upside is that it made lots of sticks for me to play with.

Including this big one that nearly took out the Moose mobile! I did not get to play with it before some scary truck with loud machines chewed it up and took it away.

And now for the award!

Dog Daze bestowed the Superior Scribbler award on me! Don't worry though, they gave it to me January 2nd which was before I was named as a Mango Minster Judge so it should not be viewed as a bribe in any way.
Since this post is so long I will send you to Dog Daze to read about it. I am supposed to pass it on to 5 deserving bloggers.
So here goes:
Barkalot Boyz- Go read today's post about how it is so cold it is raining iguanas here in Florida!
Jerry Sweet Sucks- I just met them last month- two wrinkly black dogs!
Corgi Country- They are not kidding either, there are enough corgis there to start a country for sure! I am starting to think Corgi's come in sets because I don't think I have ever seen just one.... hmmm
Jazzi's World- OMD you must go help her, she is about to be used as a draft animal!
Dog Eared- there are 11 doggies in their house at the moment and all together they still weigh less than Moose! Curious? Check them out!
Thanks Dog Daze!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Years!
Hope you all had a happy holiday and are ready for the new year. I can not believe it is 2010 already! Where does the time go? Have you figured out your resolutions this year? I am resolving to work on some of Moose's manners but have not figured out a specific plan. Maybe I will resolve to plan better... hmmm we'll see!
Anyway... Hope you all are getting a happy and healthy start to 2010!
Also, Mango has announced the start of Mango Minster 2010 and we are so excited! Stop by and check it out! It is looking to be even more exciting than last year if that is possible!

Christmas Kibbles

Exploding stuffies aside we doggies here at the Moose Lodge had a lovely Christmas. I already told you about the stuff from Santa but there were other goodies that came from the kitchen!

It smelled soooo good but it took FOREVER to be ready and kept being taken out of the oven and put back in, I think just to tease me. I was on the verge of being dehydrated from losing so much drool.

When it was finally done Momma gave us turkey, mashed potatoes and green beans with our kibbles! (My girlfriends are not into greens so I got all the beans).

Here's how happy I was when it was finally supper time!

Santa's return policy?

Does anyone know what Santa's return policy is? I think one of the presents he brought me was defective! I was gently playing with my beloved squeaky Hedgie and first the Santa hat fell off. I was not too worried because it was just after midnight so Christmas was over, right?

But then it all of the sudden exploded! I asked momma to call up to see about getting him to replace it but she says he won't come back for another year.

I have a movie of me playing with it ever so gently as proof that this was some sort of defect. I wonder if Santa has outsourced some of his labor?
