So yesterday momma packed up some bags and left with my 'girlfriend' Bella. She said she had to go to work up in Miami and since Bella was limping she was going to take her along so she could got to the vet. Bella was totally faking just so she could go with momma, I know it. One minute she was limping and the next she was fine... yup faking it for sure. So momma took Bella and many bags and left. I knew I was in for a long day! If momma takes many empty bags she will only be gone for a minute and come home with foodables but many full bags means I might as well take a nap. Sigh... Poor me!
She said not to feel bad that she and Bella were not going to have any fun but I checked her camera after she got home and found evidence to the contrary. Here is Bella waiting to see the vet where she was diagnosed with a 'soft tissue injury' which is vet speak for faking it I think! Bella said it was really scary being there because it reminded her of the shelter and she was very worried she was going to be left there. Momma said she cried the whole time. Baby! I am not scared of the vet, there are cookies and people tell you you are handsome there.
Then they went to momma's office. Now I will say I am glad I missed out on that. I do not like that place with all the slippery floors and stairs that sound echo-y every where you turn, so I am ok with missing that!
Then I saw this video of Bella totally showing off with the moving box thing. What is she, some kind of dare devil? Do you see her showing off playing chicken with the sliding wall of doom? She is young and not so smart as me so I guess she just does not know any better!
I was starting to be really glad I stayed home until I saw she got walkies by the water. Momma swore she did not get to swim because she had to stay clean to go meet a lady who might adopt her! I think some of you got the wrong idea from my earlier post. Bella is just staying at the Moose lodge while momma helps her find her furever home. She is a lab rescue doggie just like I was before I met my momma! Now, I happen to think Bella is boring because all she does is snuggle and stare at momma with these adoring eyes but apparently momma says people like that in a doggie and she will find a home in no time!
Momma FINALLY came home like 7 naps later and look what I did between naps... I know I had already chewed my way into that same vittles vault and yes momma had already emptied it but I wanted to make sure it was really empty! I made sure that vault would never hold kibbles again! And I dragged it to the front door too so she would see it right away Hmph! That'll show her for deserting me!

MAXDOG visits the Moose Lodge!
Look who stopped by the Moose Lodge! My pal Maxdog all the way from South Africa!
He has been traveling around and decided that he wanted to visit the Florida Keys.
Maxdog is an awesome tour guide showing his friends lots of landmarks and wildlife from his homeland.
He had lots of other places to go and could not stay long so I knew exactly where to take him!
The Southernmost Point! Hmmm... I don't think he was terribly impressed!
I figured some wildlife would definitely impress him since he has shown me lots of his local critters! So we went to Big Pine Key to see the Key Deer. He thought they looked like antelopes that they have in South Africa only much smaller!
He is a popular guy though and has loads of pals he wanted to visit so, sadly I had to say goodbye.
Since he was in a hurry we hailed a seaplane to take him to his next destination! I wonder where he is off to next?
P.S. Here are SOME of the other places Max has visited on his tour:
The Chronicle of Woos
Khyra's Khorner
Twinkie the Dog
Duffy's New York Diary
Holy Terriers
Asta's World
Magickal Tails
Stella's World
Sierra Rose
Assistance Dog for Autism
Two Special Wires
Golden Samantha
Romping & Rolling in the Rockies
Petey's Playhouse
The Thundering Herd
Maggie & Mitch the Airedales
Dog Daze
Alasandra, The Cats and a Dog
Cloud the Wonder Dog
Dream Valley Ranch
Emma Rose
Loving for a Living
Paco, Milo and Maya
Poupounette Gang

Return of the Sporty Dogs
I hope everyone has been watching Mango Minster 2010 and voting everyday for readers choice! Sporty dogs are about to enter the ring and there are a lot of them so be sure to tune in!
Since I left the sporty dogs in Key West I have been up at Mango's estate for Mango Minster judging and I have sort of taken Pee-Wee under my wing to teach him some of the things every labradog should know. Especially how to ensure you do not starve to death when you are home alone.
So many puppies languish all day needlessly while their parents are at work! I was right in the middle of the lesson when Mango calls me in.
Hope I am not in Relentlessly Huge trouble!
Oh brother! How am I ever gonna find them. I guess it won't be that hard to track down a pack of 58 sporty dogs!!
Meanwhile... back in Key West... The sporty dogs have been trolling Key West's many drinking establishments. When Sloppy Joe's would not have them they decided to try Hogs Breath Saloon since it sounded like an animal friendly place.
Unfortunately Hogs Breath took one look at them and Mr Wild Dingo Man and kicked them out but they found some fun in the parking lot at least!
So then they heard of a place called Garden of Eden and figured it was outdoorsy and would probably take doggies.
Apparently not everyone was feeling so adventurous though. Luckily they found this place instead:
Of course the service was terrible and in spite of advertising cheeseburgers there was nothin' but Milkbones! So then they moved on to the Island Dogs Bar. They were hanging out there when I finally tracked them down and ordered them to get to the show!
Fortunately Trooper was able to commandeer the Conch Train so the Sporty Dogs could get to Master chew sits! Phew!
I hope they make it on time!
UPDATE: If you have not already, please go visit Maxdog, his pack could use some comfort right now. :-(

Sporty dogs gone wild: Finale
After the Flyball tourney was over I got a most disturbing call from Murphy. Apparently the Sporty dogs ran up a huge bar tab and were kicked out out of Holiday Isle!
I told them to head south and wait for me at the seven mile bridge.
So I get there and see a bunch of Sporty dogs waiting. Phew! Glad I found them! Oh and there are some new arrivals!
Where are the rest of the sporty dogs? Where is Sassy? Did Twinkie get lost?
What? They are down on the beach? Sheesh! I guess these doggies are the patient good sports and the other sporty dogs got too restless up here by the side of the road! Wait here while I go round them up...
So I get down to the beach and Holy cow! The sporty dogs have like tripled in number since I left! And are there really three black pugs or am I seeing things?
Ok, We gotta get movin! Only 40 miles to Key West...
When we were almost to Big Pine Key we ran into a strange beast...
OMD! That is not a new sporty dog, that is an endangered Key Deer! Momma told me we might see some of them and that we should not approach them because they are endangered. If I were in danger I would definitely want someone to approach me!
So while we were in Big Pine Key we decided to go check on them and see if they were ok.
Holy cow they look just like Twinkie! Twinkie, Go stand over there next to one!
Yep... spitting image! Ok pups, we gotta keep moving! Another 20 miles to Key West!
So being the good host that I am, I took them to the tourist favorites. After the Southernmost point I thought they might like to go see the Cat Man at Mallory Square. It was almost sunset and that is when the cat circus starts!
Ok... that was starting to get a little intense so I decided we should head off for some libations at a local watering hole.
When I get there I noticed that there are 999 golden retrievers (not to be confused with 1000 Goldens our 1st place sponsor!) in the sporty dog group and they appear to be organizing. Yikes!
Sadly it was time for me to get to Master chew sits to get started on the judging. I don't know how I am ever going to pick the winners so I had better get up there and get to work!
Have fun in Key West sporty dogs! Try to stay out of trouble!

Sporty dogs head to Key West!
If you missed part one of our adventure, you can read it here. When we left off I had asked Fenris and Storm to pick a place to go....
And they picked Key West! Since the Moose mobile can barely fit 3 doggies we decided to hoof it the whole 100 miles!
In Islamorada we made a pit stop to see Betsey the Lobster. Phew! 80 miles to go!
Then we stopped at Holiday Isle for some R & R. Teal'c and some others saw a sign for parasailing and thought that would be a good way to show me how sporty they are!
We pooled our cash but only had enough for Jeannie and Shingo to go so Tank, Cody and Teal'c splashed around in the waves instead showing that they were very good sports about it all.
Meanwhile, up at the Tiki bar there was all sorts of carrying on! All of the sudden Dennis comes tearing around the corner telling me I am desperately needed back at fly ball! I am not sure what he thinks I can do about ninja hedgehogs (I guess momma didn't tell him about the time I saw that mouse...) but I don't want to leave my fellow judges hangin'!
So I told all the sporty dogs to hang out at Holiday Isle and I will be back in a few days and we will continue south. I sure hope they don't get into too much trouble!

Sporty Dogs Gone Wild (Part 1)
So I have been busy lately. I went up to Master chew sits to Mango's estate to hang with the other judges then was whisked off for a flyball tournament with Dennis. I was having a ball (ha ha) when Momma calls me home to handle an emergency. Apparently she woke up to this headline in the paper and thought I'd better be home for this.
So I get back to the Moose lodge and yep, look what I saw out the Window in the office, Sugar, Buddy, Radar, Homer and Dennis. Dennis is probably here to get me to come back to fly ball... Rut Roh!
And the window next to Momma's desk, Charlie, Tank, Lucy, Shingo, Zack, Sassy, Jeannie, Teal'c, Latte and Stella!
And out the door of the office it was Samantha, Gus, Hauwii, Cookie and a squirrel... oh wait that is Dory!
And out the side door, look! It is Fenris, Frankie, Lily, Fiona and a bunny rabbit! Oh no it's really Gracie!
And out the Kitchen window there was Jasmine (a goat dog!), Tommy, Charlie, Murphy and hoards of the hounds from Bumpass (Abby, Jubal, J.E.B., Sophie, Shelby Belle, and Jack)!
And at the front door there was Storm, Marge, Twinkie, Benny, Cody and Roy. Storm was pounding on the door he was so excited!
I told momma to hurry up and let them in but she said no way! After Mango and Dexter's visit she said that the dog capacity of the Moose Lodge is definitely less than 400lbs.
Since Jasmine is not technically a doggie I got momma to let her in to see what was going on!
So we all went down the street to re-group and figure out a plan! Twinkie decided she could use a ride so I saddled up and gave her a lift!
Fenris and Storm were put in charge of picking a place to go and it looks like Storm has made a decision... tune in for the next installment to see where we went!

Cupboard was bare... again
Why does momma let this happen all the time?
Once again it was dinner time and look! Nothing! Nada! Gone!
I mean not so much as a single piece of kibble.
I double checked the Vittles Vault... Nuthin!
So I corralled her into the car to get to the kibble store.
We got there 5 minutes before they closed! Can you believe it? I can't even imagine what would have happened if I had waited another minute before asking for dinner!
I went in with her because I was worried she would not know what kind to get.
Then we got home and I could not wait for the best part... The transferring of the kibbles! She usually spills some and according to the rules any that spill are all mine!
My favorite part is where momma lets me eat right out of the vault for a full 10 seconds! She has calculated that this is how long it takes me to get 1/2 a meal's worth of kibble. I make it almost impossible for her to get me out of there though so that is another few bites. Most yummers!
