Yesterday momma took buddy and I to the beach! Although we live a few hundred feet from the water on a long skinny island it is incredibly hard to find a place doggies can actually get in the water! So we have to drive a looong way to get there in the Moose mobile!
Once we got there it was totally worth it though. Momma won't let me off leash but still fun! Where I live you have to walk out for miles to get deep enough to swim but I prefer to walk through the water anyways.
We wanted to know if buddy liked the water (some labbies don't believe it or not!) and also to take pics of him looking super handsome to help him get noticed on the LRRoF Website. It is hard for a middle aged black boy labbie named Buddy to stand out because there are sooooo many out there.
Well, Buddy liked the water but did not seem like a water nut like some doggies. I really think he might never have been to the ocean before. There were lots of people in the water and mostly it seemed like he wanted to go meet them. I bet if he could go off leash and run around he would love it.
Anywho, this beach is a natural beach and it has some mangroves which makes for some awesome exploring!
There is a boardwalk too which is puts you higher in the trees and things smell totally different!
I ate some grass like I always do but it was saltier than on our normal walks! Delishes! I ate all kinda things I found in the mangroves before momma could stop me. I will never tell her what though or she won't take me again.
Buddy had a fun day and I think we got some good pics and video to help him get adopterated!

Momma and I went to this same beach back in winter and there were no people so we had the whole place to ourselves! This pic will make it almost like you were there too... Check it out!

That looks wonderful and Buddy looks like he's having a great time, even if he did have to stay on his string!

ReplyDeleteYour dogs surely appreciate your efforts to bring them to the water, *sigh* if they could only speak. Ha-ha! I also make it a point to bring my dog outdoors once in a while and I noticed that he really likes the beach. Your buddies seem to enjoy a lot too. :D Mangroves? Hmm..that place must’ve been near a river too.
