Roughed up by a pointer

Poor moose got roughed up by a pointer at the dog park last night. The pointer was in the pool with his tennis ball and Moose went to get in and the dog went nuts, growl-bark-teeth bared nuts! Moose backed off but then the pointer kept coming so Moose had to growl and bark and snarl while trying to get away. The pointer's owner did not do anything at first then finally called his name and told him to stop. By then Moose had run over to me. For the next 15 minutes he just watched the pointer and the pool looking distressed. When the pointer was off chasing his ball moose slinked over to the pool, looking out of the corner of his eye the whole time. He only got in sat down and then slinked back over to me again as if to say ' see I am not afraid of you mr. pointer!'. It was the worst growling I have seen from Moose and I hope to never see it again but I really think Moose had to do that or he would have been hurt. Luckily no one got hurt though!
We stayed so late chatting with the other owners that we actually got to catch a pretty nice sunset! There is a beach next to the dog park where dogs are not allowed but we ventured on just for a moment! Unfortunately Moose would not sit still for a picture!
