homeless labs and making them healthy and happy and matching them up with the right carefully screened family. All of this is a lot of work and is only possible through volunteers who foster labs in their homes and donations from caring people which pay for medical care, neutering and microchipping. I know times are hard all over but if you are one of the fortunate few who can afford to contribute to their efforts you will make some adorable deserving labbies like Moose very happy! If you live in Florida and are interested in volunteering there are lots of ways to help. Foster homes are the most limiting link in the chain and if you can't commit to fostering a lab until it gets adopted there is often an urgent need for short term fosters that can take in a lab that is about to be euthanized until a regular foster can be found, often just a few days! Anyway, Moose would love it if you would check out their site and contribute in any way that you can!
And of course, if you or someone you know live in Florida and would like a lab, please consider adopting one from LRRoF instead of hitting the puppy mill shops!
P.S. We also got an adorable card from the Zoo Crew even though we did not sign up for the DWB Card exchange, Thanks Zoo Crew!
It is truly a great organization, as are all the ones who put the furries first! Let's all try and help out, volunteer, give, foster...What a great way of showing true LOVE!! Merry Christmas to a great Moose!!!

Thanks for sharing Dana + Moose! Parker and I would definitely volunteer - hmmm we need to get down to Florida : ) It does look like a great organization and hats off to everyone helping out in anyway!
ReplyDeleteHi there, Thanks for stopping by my blog. Sophie has surgery on her knee two years ago at exactly this time of year and she has been really great ever since. We don't go crazy, but that's only because of the dysplasia in her shoulders and the fear of tearing her other ACL, but the one she had repaired is in excellent condition. However, had you asked me about it at the time, I would have sworn she would never run again because she looked so awful with all the staples and could barely walk. They are amazingly resilient beasties and your guy will be just fine. You just have to make sure he takes it very easy for the next few weeks. You will go nuts! And so will he, but it is all worth it.
