After vacuuming up what seemed like an entire Moose worth of furs and getting handfulls of fur when petting my boy I decided it was time to furminate. Holy Cow! I have never gotten so much fur off of him! His coat generally sheds less than other labs I have known, and usually when I run the furminator over him I get a half a handful of fur out. This time it just keeps coming! I stopped b/c we both got tired but I was still getting tons of fur with each stroke! Crazy! Seems a little late to be shedding for summer given that it has been hot for at least a month here in south Florida! For those of you who were concerned about his brush with raisins... so far so good. If the vet can see us in the AM then we will go. He has not shown any signs of trouble but he has a lump that I want to get checked and it is time for his vaccines anyway.
Must be a shedding year. I got furminated too and now there is tons of Dexter all over the yard (plus I saw an appointment at the beauty parlor setup for Friday. ICK).
ReplyDeleteI bet your big old Moose-ness will pass those raisins through OK. But be more careful next time. Just because its on the counter doesn't mean its for you (or so I have been told).

Wooo, the dreaded furminator! Mom uses that one on Scampi, but it does not do much for me, I have too much fur! He too has been shedding a lot more than normal, , me I always shed. Mom thinks it is going to be a HOT summer!

The tall guy got a new rake for me at the Petco. It feels pretty good, even though it does make a mess!
