Bag-o-phobia

Ok, my boy has finally lost it! I have had 2 pieces of a faucet fixture in 2 white cloth bags on my table for the past few days that have gone un noticed by Moose. Then just tonight he sniffed one and jumped back like it bit him! Then he walked far around it and stared at it from a distance so I decided to put it on the floor so he could approach it and have a look for himself. He still walked around and stared and tried to approach it but it looked like he was hitting some invisible forcefield. So I went off to cook dinner (a task that he must ALWAYS supervise) and he stayed in the living room circling and creeping a little closer. I thought to go get the camera but figured he would stop doing it by the time I did, but about 10 minutes later when he was only a few feet closer and started scratching at the floor, I got the camera and caught the nutball in action!

I have seen him afraid of plenty of silly things but he will walk away from them and wait until it the offensive object (usually a bug) has been removed. This was wierd... like he was both afraid and oddly attracted to it at the same time. To add to the mystery, there are 2 pieces in 2 separate bags and it was only this one that worried him! in the video you can see him sniffing the other one that is still on the table and apparently not so scary! Crazy beast!

  1. Sometimes we get force fields in our house too that the people cannot see. You were very brave to get so close and actually put that bag in your mouth. Of course you subdued it with your big voice first.

You have to protect mom even though she is silly and doesn't see the danger.

  2. oooh great do they not grow out of this then :)
oscar gets scared at the most strangest of things , even a fly splaterer , he runs a mile and hides when i get that out ???????
we thought it could have been down to the fact he could have been badley treated at his first home but now we think he just a big daft scaredy doggie . funny thing is though he goes and attacks my petrol lawn mower when its running and dosnt move when the hoover comes out , i litterally have to nudge him with it to get him to move . and as for strangers well he wont go near them unless they have a dog , fantastic at getting rid of door salesmen though and on certain occasions i have pretended his name is satan , they soon run then :)

  9. Aw, poor Moose. My sissy is afraid of garbage bags. But I must tell you that good things come in plastic bags! Like groceries! And you DO look like Mr.Hercules, though he does not have a lovely shiny lab coat yet.

But...I AM scared of moving. And that makes my brudder scared. I get really crazy and high strung. So my ma ape has taken a lot of my toys to the new place and things that smelly like her (and she is smelly). And we're going to get to visit a lot before we move for good.

ps. I think I heard It's Me or the Dog in the background!

  10. Very wise, Moose. You never know what is going to leap out of a scary bag like that. Those humans just have no idea.

  11. This is awesome! Domino does the same thing but only when he thinks we are not looking. He is scared of my bike until we go into the other room, then sniffs it like this. Its so cute how they are trying to be brave but are in their special stance so they can bolt if the dreaded object decided to attack! What do people without pets do for entertainment?!
