Sick Day

I had a tummy ache last night and was really feeling icky this morning. Momma woke up to some horrible moose sounds! She was very worried! Of course Bella told her I was faking but momma knows you cannot fake the terrible smells I was making last night!
What could be making me sick? Bella has been eating all of the same stuff as me and she is fine. I have been eating some of Bella's kibble and different snacks than usual and momma finally got more fish oil and started giving me that again and maybe that was the trouble. So she decided to make me some chicken and rice and only give me that for awhile.

After she started cooking I went outside and got caught red-beaked eating fruits from the Pigeon Plum tree (related to sea grape for you fellow floridians)!

Here is the tree in case you have never seen one. (Note from Momma- I think that is what kind of tree it is anyway, if anyone can tell for sure let me know. Although it is related to Sea 'Grape' they are not related to actual grapes. The fruits are edible to humans and I can not find them listed anywhere as toxic to dogs so I don't think it is a toxic reaction, just maybe ate enough to disagree with him? If anyone knows about dogs eating these or Sea Grape let me know!)

I still got chicken and brown rice for breakfast though and there is enough left for dinner so yummers!

Bella got some chicken with her kibbles and got to clean the pot so she would not feel left out.

Now I am going to sleep and recuperate while momma goes outside and tries to figure out how to pick us 87million (nod to Frankie  ;-) ) little fruits off of the gravel!

Pigeon plum fruits CARPETING the gravel on my side yard. Momma will never get them all!

  1. Get better Moose!!! It's always the things they shouldn't eat that they want to eat the most of!!

  2. So nice of you to share your perfumes with your humans. Kiska on a really good day can clear a room, so not pleasant to be around on a bad day.

    Get better quickly.

  3. Holy Cat Crap Moose, I hope you are OK!! Rest up and feel better. Nope, she will never ever get them all. I don't even know how she could SEE them all. Keep us posted.

  4. Mooses, did you get to anything else while your mama and Bella were away?

And what about their mission together?

So many questions. Just feel better!!

Mom used to have a sea grape when she lived on a canal in Kendall -- but none around here in our land-locked Plantation townhouse.

  9. Oh MOose! I'm sorry to hear about your sickie tummy! But those berry things don't look very nice at all...why are you eating them??!!

I also get chicken & rice when my tummy is funny - or sometimes boiled egg and rice. They are delicious!

  13. Sorry to hear your tummy hurts Moose. Gunther is prone to that sickie often too. Maybe it's because he eats roughage like rocks and bark?...

Betty has been sick too. Not the same kind, but sick is sick and no one wants their pack members to be sick.

    Feel better soon!

  14. Aw, Moose, how could you not eat them? I am sorry to report that PeeWee has gotten me hooked on rocks and Momma tried to pick up all the little rocks yesterday and it was too hard for her! LAZY!

At least you get to eat nommy sickie food. Hey, I wonder if part of your problem was eating plastic from the kibbles vault.

    Slobbers,

  15. Coming from someone who certainly doesn't have the most discriminating palate (sticks, stuffie eyeballs, underwear all in my "things I've eaten" list)... Yuck! Those berries look nasty! Wonder of some of those pebbles slipped into your belly too? Hope you feel better soon, Moose (soak up all the extra attention while you can, though!!)

  19. Your momma needs to borrow Nigel's muzzle. :)
I feel the same way if I eat too many grapes of any kind!

  20. Glad you're feeling better, Moose! Later this summer when the monster cherry tree drops its load, you should come up here and help me eat them up. My momma can never rake them up faster than they can fall. Foraging for food is the best (except for those digestive upsets)!

  21. Oh, Dear, Moose... you must really be feeling sick! Doggies don't have beaks!!! Not even red ones! We think you just wanted some special treatment and homemade rice and chicken is one of the best!

Grammy says she's never heard of those fruits before, but she might want to call and just ask the vet (not go and pay a fortune) or see if there is a poison control center or something to check with. She doesn't envy your Mom in trying to clean up all those little fruits in between all those little rocks! The CCC
