Since Flat Brutus is visiting Key Largo he told momma he wanted to go SCUBA diving!
He saw Mango and Dexter's diving trip back in January and really wanted to prove that not all Frenchies are afraid of the water.
Since an all day kind of adventure would interfere with my naps I sent him off with momma!
First they went to Elbow Reef where Flat Brutus got to see the Threatened Elkhorn Coral that momma is always yammering on about. He was very careful not to break it because it is very delicate!
Then they went to another reef called Sand Island. Momma was busy working so she left him on his own to explore. Well, she turned her back for one minute and found poor Flat Brutus being visciously attacked by a Threespot Damselfish! Poor brutus!
No sooner had he escaped being pecked to death by these 'chi-wa-was of the reef' (as momma calls them) than he ended up in the clutches of a monstrous Reef Spider Crab! Holy Cow!

That was a pretty harrowing adventure lil' guy! I think you should stick with us laid back labbies for your next adventure in Key Largo!
BOL! It appears that the "go limp & play dead" strategy was successful for the most part, as he escaped with all parts in tact (unlike his encounter with Ambrose!). I think that fish had taken some pages out of Carmen's book, she has many pf the same moves... The funniest part was when the fish tried to swim away with FB! Loved the video (as well as the accompanying dramatic music!)- it's a Flat Brutus first!

I almost couldn't watch! It was so horrible when the crab attacked! I can't believe I actually swam in that water!
