Independence Day Name Game

Happy Independence Day! My pal Frankie wants everyone to tell how they got their name. My name is Moose! Sometimes people meet me and ask how momma knew I was gonna be so big when she named me. Well, that is easy... I was already a full grown 5 1/2 yr old labbie when I got that name!
I was first named Skeeter Lou's Raven of the Oceans (Seriously?!). When Momma adopted me she did not think that was a good name for me and even before I picked her to be my momma she was thinking of names. She had a list that she sent out to friends to have them take a vote. Some of the choices were Scout, Atticus, & Boo because she loves "To Kill a Mockingbird". Others were family names like Walker or Webster etc and some were ocean names like Salty or Fathom. She was really leaning towards Boo since my birthday is Halloween and her favoritest Black Labbie from grad school's nick name was Boo. But the first 2 times she took me to the park there were other dogs being called Boo. She tried some of the others, but none of them seemed to fit. Moose was on the list too because she used to know a big chocolate lab named Moose and she always liked that. Then one of her friends from work came over to meet me and went on and on about how huge I was and said Moose would be perfect and there you have it... A moose was born!

Momma knew she made the right choice when we went to the dog park a few days later and I ran up to a guy I never met before and he called me Moose even without knowing my name! Since then that has happened a few other times so I guess my name fits! Here is a picture showing my new name being made official on my first name tag! Of course, even though that is my name I only get called that about half the time. Otherwise my name is 'Mooselby Waggerstien', 'Leaky Beak', 'Precious', 'Momma's Baby', 'Mooses' and 'Mister Wiggles'.

So that is my story. Mandy's story is not so interesting because it is just starting. Momma got a piece of paper that said Amanda on it but the LRRoF lady made it Mandy though unofficially she was called Miss Piggy! Mandy still does not know her name is Mandy and that is probably not gonna happen because momma mostly calls her Niblet, Nibbles, Golden Niblet or Bear Face. Momma does not have a good pic of her looking all Bear Face but this is kinda close. Personally I don't see it but whatever... Momma is crazy!
The nibble thing is cuz when she is all excited and goes to give Momma kisses she will start out with some licks and the all the sudden... Nibble! When I am being Mr. Wiggles with a toy or before Kibble time she will sometimes start sniffing and nuzzling me then all of the sudden... Nibble!
