Goodnight Sweet Swissie

We are sooo sad around the Moose Lodge today. My best girl Swissie had to cross over the bridge this morning. She has had bone troubles and troubles with her insides for awhile now but she is one tough lady and she soldiered on.
But this morning she told her people that it was time. She was glad that they helped her stay for as long as she could but it was just time.

Here is a picture of me and her together on my last visit to see her.

She loved stuffies like no other doggie I have known. Actually not just any stuffies, she liked squatters and platypus eggs!

The first time she visited 2 1/2 years ago she decided that the platypus eggs were the best toy at the Moose lodge and from then on that was always her favorite! Even if there were 87 other toys around and the platypus egg was under the couch it had to be the egg. Nothing else would do and no peace would be had until she got the egg!

She was an awesome playmate and never failed to make momma laugh. There just are not enough words to say how much she will be missed by me and momma but even more by her people and sweet Jetta.

Run free sweet girl, may all the toys still squeak on the other side of the bridge.

Woof!

  15. Oh, Moose, we are so very sorry to learn of Swissie's passing over the Bridge! But we're glad she's not hurting any more, and that she had so much love from her family and furiends during her life. Big hugs to you and her family and her sissy. Jetta is going to mourn deeply and she will need your comforting presence to help her cope. We don't do Facebook [well, we don't do anything; mama doesn't do Facebook], so we didn't know you had a new foster sissy. She looks very cute. You look even more like a demi-Dane next to her. That and the Dane bump on the top of your head. Face it, bud, you've got Dane genes! The Bad Sport mischievousness is, however, all Lab :)

  18. Oh MOose! I"m so sorry to hear about sweet Swissie! She was a beautiful girl and I know what a great friend she was to you. It was very brave of her people to know it was time to do the kindest thing for her and let her go. But she will live on in all your memories...

So sorry this is so late - I haven't had any time to visit my blog friends lately coz there's been a kitty invasion in my house! Yes, I have now got a new kitty sister and she is a total terror - so I've had my paws pretty full with a hissing, spitting ball of kitty fluff! :-)
