True Colors Thursday...Turquoise!

True Colors Thursday is a meme hosted by Blue and this week's color is Turquoise!

I will use this color as an excuse to post a picture of my beloved elkhorn coral against the clear turquoise waters around Navassa island.  

I am recycling this picture that I used for one of my blue posts. It is a Queen angel fish whose crown is blue but really it is much better as an example of turquoise! I worked hard to get this picture so you may even see it again for a yellow post! Ha ha!

This is a scrawled filefish... it is much more subtle turquoise and not the greatest pic, but this fish has turquoise lines on it that look like they are glowing when you see them in person!










This is a trunkfish that has some turquoise around his eyes and along his back. They are very funny little fish! This was taken on a night dive and this little guy was very mad at my flashlight and kept raming it with his little horns! From the front they are even funnier looking but that photo was blurry.









In the tropics where the water is clear and shallow, the sea can be turquoise. This picture was one typical summer day where a scary looking storm chased us home. Phew we made it!

Here is my Moose enjoying a cool drink of water from the hose (his favorite way to drink) while he was refusing to get in the turquoise painted pool at our old place! That was as far as he would go no matter what I tried! Chicken hound!
